About me

I am a doctoral student in the field of Systems Analysis and Operations Research. I work at the Systems Analysis Laboratory of Aalto university Dept. of Mathematics and systems analysis. My research interests include behavioral effects and cognitive biases in Decision Analysis and Operations Research, environmental decision making and Portfolio Decision Analysis.

I am enthusiastic about making things better. This is where decisions and systems come in.  As I see it, decision making is about figuring out the best actions to take. Systems are the wholes in which we act (e.g. family, workplace, earth) and their structure will determine what the consequences of our actions are.

Good decision making should pay attention to facts and values. Values are important because they determine what is better for us. Facts are pieces of information about the structure of the system in which we act. They help to figure out what are the consequences of our actions.
